Classic Division:

Futurity/Derby:

Classic horses will be judged under a remote dummy for 6 seconds on two year olds and 8 seconds on 3 year olds. Horses will be judged by 4 judges using specifications similar to those adopted by the PRCA. Horses will be scored using five categories: Style, Intensity, Rhythm, Kick and Elevation. Zero (0) to five (5) points, quarter points may be awarded in each category, with all five categories added up to form one (1) to twenty-five (25) points per trip, per judge.

Classic Categories Defined:

  • Style –Beginning and ending with a fluid motion and pattern.
  • Intensity – Quality and expressiveness of great energy, determination and force.
  • Rhythm - Regular recurrent motion or natural flow.
  • Kick – Extension of the hocks.
  • Elevation – Horizontal leap and amount of suspension.

Classic Horse

4 & 5 year olds:

Classic horses are judged under the same specifications as the Classic Division. Horses are judged judged with a rider for up to 8 seconds or until rider is thrown. Horses will be scored using the same five categories as outlined in the Classic Division. Each horse and each rider will receive an individual score. Two extra judges will score the rider from one (1) to fifty (50) points per trip, per judge. Riders are required to make the full 8 seconds to receive a qualifying mark.

Entries will be required to bring their own rider. Saddle Bronc and Bareback riders will be judged using standard PRCA rules.
