Division Rules:

Futurity/Derby

  • Horses must be designated to either the Classic or the Ranch Division at entry
  • Horses cannot compete in both divisions at the same event

Mature RanchHorse Division

Rider Rules: "Ride as ride can".  A standard working saddle must be used. No PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association) rigging is allowed. The horse has to be saddled as it would be for everyday use. A regular bucking horse halter with one rein must be used and is provided by the rider. Points are awarded for the degree of aggressiveness, control, and exposure the rider demonstrates. No mark out is required. Re-rides may be awarded only by discretion of a judge.

  • No Night latch
  • Rein must be on the same side as the riding hand
  • No back cinch hobble
  • No hobbling or binding of either or both stirrups
  • Rider may fan horse with hat only
  • Rowels must be free turning and blunt (excessively sharp rowels that cut or cause damage to any animal will be cause for a $1000 fine)
  • Bucking rolls will be permitted

Classic Horse Division

  • Riders will be judged under PRCA standards
  • PRCA rules will apply for riders equipment
  • Re-rides mazy be awarded only by discretion of a judge.
